Colorado Hospital Discounted Care

If your income is at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG), you are eligible for Colorado Hospital Discounted Care. This program limits the amounts that patients with low income can be billed for health care services at hospitals and emergency rooms. It also limits the amounts you can be billed from providers who work at hospitals and emergency rooms.

If you need help determining if you qualify please visit HHS Poverty Guidelines website.

You will have the opportunity to apply for discounted care when you have services performed at Weisbrod Hospital. If you qualify, your billed amounts will be limited to the rates set by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. Your payment plan for bills from the hospital will also not be more than 4% of your gross monthly income. Payment plans for each medical provider that bills you separately from the hospital cannot be more than 2% of your gross monthly household income. Your payment plan cannot be longer than 36 months of payments. Once you have made 36 payments, the bill will be considered paid in full.

Covered Services

Emergent and elective services received in a health care facility at all Colorado general acute and critical access hospitals and their off-campus locations and all freestanding emergency departments may be covered. Services provided by licensed health care professionals in these settings are also covered. If you apply for Hospital Discounted Care, you will also be screened for public health coverage, the Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP), and discounted health care. If you do not have insurance, you will automatically be screened, but you may choose not to be by opting out of the screening. If you have insurance, you may ask to be screened to see if you qualify.
